I ordered a replacement magnet and found it would bolt up but looks different and the ground connector is a larger size, this an easy fix. Thinking this a generic part not OEM thats why it isn't the same? Will the replacement work

You don't give us enough info to say go or no go. Things I would need to give you an opinion. Part number of the original and brand and part number of the replacement. Pictures do not show me two things which I would need and would be hard to get. Don't know if the mounting hole spacing is the same, both horizontal and vertical. Second and more critical, is the arc angle the same on both coils? Finally, is the pick coil mounted on the same side of the coil, when the coil is mounted on the engine? Can't really tell on the replacement coil.

The part ordered was "Ignition Coil Magneto Armature Replacement For 590454 692605 790817 799381 (#SKU282280)" , the arc is correct and the mounting holes line up. From the information I gathered a model 126T02 uses the 590454 magneto. How do I know what side of the coil is the pickup side?

Thank you for responding! If this part won't work I have 2 of the for the price of 1 for somebody!

As I said the picture doesn't show me enough, but I'll take a guess. Both coils should have a spade post to connect the ground wire to. When you removed the old coil the shade should have been down. That being said, I would mount the replacement with the ground spade down also. Set the air gap at .010".

Problem solved. Ended up with the ground lug up to route the plug wire out the same side as original, make a new ground wire as the spade lug was bigger and trim the Air Vane a little bit.
