So I repowered my snapper(yz1333) 4-5 years ago after the local (crappy) dealer told me my issue was a locked up engine. It turned out to be the jackshaft bearing, I replaced the 13hp with a new 19hp single that bolted in. wiring wasnt too hard and I had to remove those bumpers that the mower can be stood up on but life was good. Well since then, I seem to have yearly wiring or charging issues and it has beaten me down. finally the tornados that blew through tx apparently managed to blow some moisture into the cyclinder either via the muffler or intake tract. I have never seen this but I can say the spark plug is soaking wet and it sounds very rusty when I forced it to turn over with a breaker bar. So my problem is... repower it again and maybe replace all the wiring and battery cables or replace it. Thing is for me it was perfect, it was agile, I used it to pull a small trailer up and down my hill to get to the backyard. I loved the joystick, tho it requires finesse. The one issue I have had is, even tho they sell it as being able to stand it up on its end, it was always too heavy for me to do that. I have used jacks lifts all sorts of things to raise it to work on the blade. If I managed to run over wire or something while mowing at my Dad's or some property the Boy Scouts use for their fun raiser... I would have to load it on the trailer and possibly take it home to work on it. Very frustrating. So now I am looking for 2 things... the joystick I really liked (drink in 1 hand, steer with the other) and ease of maintenance on the deck. I think I found a solution with a mower called a country clipper Jazzee. The deck slides out from under like butter. It has a fabricated deck so it looks strong enough, it has a joystick(supposed from the real manufacturer that made them for the snappers). I dont like the engine it has, it looks to be the same 19hp B&S that I just messed up by leaving it uncovered in a storm. It does have a much more secure air filter housing and cover. The deck is smaller than I was going to replace my 33 with, only 38" They have a 41 inch for 3600 which is 600 more than I have them down to on the 38 inch deck. all that being said... I have looked at the toro ss4260, cub cadet RTZ S, (the 4 wheel steering looks very interesting), bad boy in a 42 and 48 inch and a gravely. so after all that does anyone have any comments on the Country Clipper Jazzee? I really wanted to like that Cub Cadet... but it's deck an frame looked soooo flimsy. by the way the original reason for the 33 inch deck was to be able to go through a standard gate. Which it did very well. I dont really have that need any more. But I dont want to go too big as in my case it is probably only increasing the cost.
