For best answer, need the model # under the seat. Eg. 917.xxxxxx
Normally, they are near the starter, on the metal "floor" or metal "wall" of the chassis....one big red wire to starter, one big red wire to the battery. and 1 little wire to the key switch.

Most likely locations is in the area of the battery. If the battery is under the hood then either next to the battery or below the battery mounted to the side of the dash area about 2-4 inches above the frame. if the battery is under the seat could be as mentioned in the as I mentioned above, or in the cases of the MTD manufactured unit could be in the area next to the battery, normally bolted the top of the rear hitch plate.
