Is anybody else seeing a pattern of repairs In the past 2 weeks I have had a failed keyswitch on a JD Z225 and a CC ZTR-S60. Today was a burnt connector with blackened terminals on a fuel solenoid that is showing NLA on a Husqvarna Craftsman. Funny thing is the digital IPL shows a Walbro carb, and the Nikki carb, but that engine never used the Walbro carb. It used the Ruixing and the Nikki, an a Grasshopper with a terminals blackened on the voltage regulator and one terminal of the regulator fuse burnt off. Last month was 2 terminals of the engine 6 pin connector that had been melted and burnt on a Snapper 2554.

Repairs does come patterns at times. This year I have no discernible pattern. But last year it was spindle bearings.

Now I did get a Z930M with ignition failing per the customer and it is one newer AUC18708 switches which got an after market one for replacement.

But with electrical problems I have done most my research and have most of the terminals and housings in stock.

Now you are not doing anything you come and take out the hydros from a Z925A mower here. A royal to get out and in. Only one with bearing that failed and holed the casing but both units has to come as they bolt to huge cast iron carrier. With mounting bolts you can't access; unless, the unit is out. This one will take a engine crane and two floor jacks. I done one five years ago and was hoping never to see one again but Murphy showed up.

But seriously I rather have electrical problems.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one that goes through that, this year it was starters and coils, some starters had to be change out twice being of low quality at a high price and working on a John Deere Gator 6X4 that probably from late 80's way to much work it had never been serviced, I am on the third set of coils, these are from John Deere and marked on the box, "original john deere" Kawasaki, Japan, probably made in China, does anybody make good coils anymore, Joe

Might a voltage spike as you turn off the ignition switch being applied to the kill terminal of the coils. IE a defective ignition switch.

An I I forgot about the sheared flywheel keys on 5 HP horizontal shaft flat head Briggs engines on tillers.

In today's world of consumer products, it's NOT about making the machines or parts long lasting or reliable. It's about the companies making them cheap, selling them in volume and making huge profits.

Easy credit these days means people will just keep buying more new junk and throw away the old junk before it has even been paid off.

My problem lately is that fairly new units are being abandoned more and more instead of repaired. I can't just part them out or haul them away without problems.

Parts have especially become a real headache, it's worse if a customer has already been trying use You Tube along with Amazon or Ebay and fix it themselves.
