How to remove the transmission attached to the axle of a honda hrr216vka lawn mower.

Basically, all I want is a rear axle without the transmission attached to it - it will make cleaning the grass clippings from caught in the nooks and crannies of the plastic shroud.

So the rear wheels spin/roll on a wheel bolt that is screwed into the height adjuster...the wheels are NOT mounted to the transmission's 'axle'.

You could remove the entire transmission/rear 'axle' but that would structurally weaken the mower, and the rear wheels would likely spread/bend/fail with out the support.

If your goal is to totally remove the transmission, you might be able to extract the axle, but never done that, so not sure what is involved.

Plan B would be to remove the transmission/axle and replace it with the shaft-only part from a similar Honda push-only model, the HRS216PKA.
