Had a busy couple days replacing worn parts on a 2354 GXLS I purchased in 2009 that now has 700 hours on it.
First was the muffler ( that sellers call exhaust canisters ).
That diminished some of the rattles so we pulled the deck and replaced the drive belt and the three pulleys ........ finding one of the V-pulleys with bad bearings.
Took more than one day to get it all done but the machine is now quiet. Then we replaced the wheel bushings with bearings & installed the "thrust bearing" under the spindle assembly. Sad to report the effect was negligible with no noted improvement in the steering.
The bad news is that this model has the electric actuator motor for the deck elevation that was eliminated after a couple years because it is a crappy design with a high failure rate and there are zero replacement parts available to repair or replace the electric motor & plastic trunion ...... so it's just a matter of time.
