I have a RedMax EBZ 7150 backpack blower. It runs great but, it has a short in the wires going to the kill switch causing it to die unexpectedly. Is there anywhere I can go online to see a wiring diagram? I would just like to know more before I dive into it.

All the wiring does is ground out the ignition to shut off, so you will have a wire going to the small terminal on the coil, the wire will go to the on/off switch, and another wire will be going back to ground somewhere on the block, usually on one of the bolts that mount the coil.

Why do you think it's a short and not a coil fault?

The most likely thing is an issue in the trigger area, or a place where both wires got pinched and are at times arcing...speaking from past experience. Trace the wires to check they are ok, first job.

I took it apart and found where one of the wires had been cut and splice at least 5 times. I just replaced the wires and it works fine.
