It appears to be mowing up a shear cliff.

Nice job!! My 1999 10323 Duraforce never surges. It did run poorly until I removed the carb, cleaned it and replaced the needle and seat. Now it runs better than new!! Not bad considering any other mower would now be in a landfill.

Looks great. I think it's a cousin to mine, I've got a 2000 10247 that will be 14-years-old next month and it also doesn't surge (knock on wood).

I have not washed my LB L21zsm since I bought it. Rinsed it a few times, yea, but never washed it. Your thread made me jealous. Your machine looks terrific.

So this morning I washed it. This is the best I can do for now. I was going to get grime away for the wheels since I scrubbed them for 5 minutes each just to get them this clean, but I am going to replace the wheels this fall or next spring anyway, so they are good enough for now.

Probably the cleanest the machine has been in 20 years.

nice one i like that style but i still like the looks of a gold series duraforce. Duraforce, loud, cool, PITA, but the best sounding and most powerful mower you can get. is how i still see it. love ur gold though. nice work

Thank you, sir.

I agree with you. I wanted a Duraforce, but there weren't any used ones available when I was in the market. This L21zsm was available so I grabbed it. I've got a Jones to get a Duraforce. Some day. My neighbor used to have one and I loved the sound of it. It's distinctive. Yours looks new. Your machine is in amazing shape.

You know, I've got nothing against my Snapper. It's been a great mower since 1986. But it seems every time the Snapper has a problem lately, I reach for the LawnBoy and it works for me. Probably because the LawnBoy is simple to work on and I've mastered the art of keeping it running. The Commercial Wisconsin Robin engine on that Snapper combined with the more complicated carb and the convoluted drive mechanism on that Snapper are harder to work on. And changing the Oil on that engine is a genuine PITA. The mower weights a freaking ton. When I switch back to my LawnBoy, it's like I've got Helium in the tires. I have to laugh that it actually has self propulsion. It seems silly. It's so light. I bought the bagging system for it on eBay years ago and never have used it. I'll have to hook it up this fall and give it a whirl now that it's all cleaned up. When the bag is getting near full the self propulsion will at least get a workout.

I owe you one. If it had not been for you, I'd not have cleaned up my LawnBoy like I did. Now that it's done, it's like I have a new mower. Thanks for the motivation.

No mower is light pushing it up hills like I have to do. Every ounce saved on the lawnboy, along with self-propelled function is totally required by me to get my lawns done.

Yep. You gotta' love LawnBoy 2 stroke for mowing on hills and in ditches. No oil distribution to worry about, and light weight to make the job easier.

Growing up, I remember my Father had a Fly-Mo from Toro for ditches. No wheels. Just a 2 cycle engine and a fiberglass dome for a hovercraft effect. Interesting mower. It would float as it mowed. Great for special jobs like ditches and very rough areas that need mowing.
