reassemble question

Hi,

First post here!

I am troubleshooting a Toro 22 inch recycler and while I do not recall changing the configuration I am unsure if the image is the correct way or if the black piece is supposed to be fed through the silver piece eyelet. If anyone knows please shout it out. I am having a hard time identifying the parts to review on schematics. Thank you.

That's correct. A lot of people want to hook them together and then it doesnt work properly.
It's part of the auto choke system, there is a thermostat on the muffler and when it heats up, that silver piece moves forward, activating that black arm to open the choke.
