I have a Woods 2855 Mow-N-Machine powered by a Kohler M18. The engine has a leaky rear crankshaft oil seal, Will I have to remove the "Closure Plate" to replace the seal or can I R&R the old seal with the engine intact?
Thanks for the help.

You can remove the seal and replace without removing the plate.
After reading all the posts referring to the breather system on the Kohler M18, I decided to take a look at that first. I replaced the breather assembly with the new upgraded breather unit from Kohler. My oil seal leak is gone and the oil spray I was getting in the air cleaner housing has stopped.
I couldn't be happier with the performance.
