An elderly neighbor has had a BobCat Ransomes leaf blower sitting for about ten years since it broke. I am trying to learn more about small engines so I told her I would see if I could fix it for her. I have never worked on small engines and have loved learning about them. My first task was removing the impeller then starting to tear down the engine.

When I opened it up there was almost no oil. The rod cap and connecting rod were in pieces. The cyclinder feels really smooth. But I can't pull the piston completely out yet. I am stuck on the flywheel removal. I would appreciate your thoughts. In looking at what information I can find it appears that it is easiest to use an air hammer to vibrate the end of the shaft with pressure from behind. Again any thoughts would be helpful. I will report on the progress.
