I picked up another mower today. Late 70's R8237 self propelled F-engine. My work schedule lately doesn't allow much time to work on any mowers, but this one doesn't appear to need much. Thought I'd share a pic or two.

You're welcome. This mower is 1 year older than me lol. I sure didn't 'need' it, but it's hard to pass by any old lawn boy :)

That looks good. Thanks for posting the pictures.

I've become more selective in the mowers that I buy (or even go check out). It's got to be old (usually early 1980s or older) and at a reasonable price or I don't bother.

I got lots of mowers in various states of repair -- but enough of them run that I always have a choice when I want to do some mowing.

R8237 update. I had to replace the on/off switch, and cleaned the carb for good measure. Now it's running great. Very quiet and smooth for its age. Used it tonight to cut the grass, and other than a little wheel wobble, and worn drive rollers it left a very nice, clean cut. No complaints here :)

Nice mower Fireman. I check the DC area CL listings everyday and have not seen many good scores. This area is mostly 1990 and newer. Do you bag or mulch?

I usually mulch with my 'newer' gold series, and side discharge with my older ones just to lighten the load on them some lol. Bagging makes the yard look nice, but it's a pain. Here's another photo taken with it's older D-powered cousin.
