Hullo everyone. First time asking questions about MTD stuff. Got given an old MTD mower in not the best condition. Rebuilt the transaxle. Now shifts nicely. However I am scratching my head to recall which springs went to the varidrive and the manual isn't helping much! I am fairly sure I got the springs I have drawn over in yellow right. But the spring in red I just bodged in to see if it fit! Clearly that is not right. What is confusing is I have two big additional springs left over. Now on the Rover mower I am replacing two big springs hold the cutter deck on. So I assumed that is what these big springs did. But now I think otherwise. Should one of these big springs go from the varidrive to the hooked bracket at the back on the right. My old Rover mower was hardly any springs. The MTD is all springs. Crikey.
