Push Mower Yearly Maintenence

Hey Guys

I bought a new Honda HRX last fall, used it for a few weeks, and decided to bring
it in for the yearly maintenance this spring. All I really cared about was the blades
getting sharpened as I did mulch leaves last fall.

My question to you.. What is "normal" in yearly maintenance, and what is "normal"
in terms of cost?

It cost me $93 to sharpen blades (2), change oil, plug, air filter, lube drive + cables,
wheels, clean deck, clean starter fuel, do a test run.

Just looking for general feedback, if it's outrageous or close enough. If that's the
going rate and what needs to be done I'll budget it in..

That seems to be a hair high, but it could just be the hourly rate in your area. Our labor rate is $65 or $70 depending on the brand. Included in our spring check over is: oil change, new plug and filter, clean deck and sharpen blade, check and test drive, lube wheels, check, run and adjust engine, check cables, etc. Normally takes 30-45 minutes depending on the unit. Normal cost. $60-$80 depending on brand. One thing, we have no set price, as every unit has different needs.
