Asking for help and advice if possible please. I have just replaced the electromagnetic clutch on my Scag Turf Runner as shown below and the space on the pulley for the vee-belt is wider on the new one than it was on the old one. It is only a few mm wider but it means that the belt sits lower down in the pulley and because it is a driving pulley the cutting deck and the blower both run slower, enough in the case of the deck to impede cutting performance. I have tried to buy a wider belt to bring it up to the top of the pulley flanges but it would appear that there isn't one available at the same length that is also in the same power grade.
I haven't investigated to see if I can speed the engine up at all (Kawasaki 20hp twin) because if I could release the actual pulley from the rest of the clutch I could press the pulley lips closer together. The pulley is an all-in-one item, not in two halves.
And so my question is : does anyone know how the pulley is joined to the rest of the clutch. It all looks a bit complicated inside there but if I could just get the pulley on it's own with no other part of the clutch attached I am sure that I could solve the problem. Thanks in advance for any help and/or advice given.
