I bought a Kubota ZG123S today. I scratched around a lot of brands, coming down to the Kubota and Exmark.
A mulch rig is on order which will take a couple of days.
One stumbling block was the Kolher Courage engine problems. In fact, it almost killed the deal.
I have been lead to believe that most problem were with single cylinders and some problems corrected.
I was told that the ZG123S now has a commercial version of the Courage engine installed. I'm not sure this is true.
If it is true, then the problems are not solved if a commercial version needs to be used.
A lot of BS flying around out there.

YOU WILL LOVE THAT THING....I know I love mine.

The power the mower has is still amazing me. Just cut my back field tonight that has been left growing for over 2 weeks do to a lot of rain and me being out of town, it never slowed down even with full 54" cuts. I'd still be out there if I was using my old LX-188. The cut is really nice.

As far as the motor, YES it is the PRO Courage model. If you take car it I believe it will be just fine. I believing that Kubota is not going to put a piece of bovine excreta in a 6K mower.

Have fun with the new toy...

Mowed for the last time with my old Toro garden tractor. There is a lot of "mow around" stuff and some banking. The steering wheel battles will be easier with the ZT controls. I hang off the side of the tractor seat to counter balance while traversing the 15* bank at the front of my lawn. I am having trouble envisioning the Kubota on the bank since I don't know what the response would be if it wants to tilt. I thinking a hard turn down hill could catch it.
A thought is that with the ZT controls being more soft than a grab clutch, mowing up hill on a bank shouldn't cause as much front end lifting.
At any rate, there will be some tip-toeing at first.
One thing that I realized on yesterday's mow was that a lot of mow-pattern is because of the lack of turning capabilities that the tractor has. My whole pattern will now change. I can see major improvement in time and effort.

YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN...If you have never REALLY driven a ZTR, you will have some adjustment. You will have an uncanny "want-to" to push the handles forward to stop the thing....which is NOT good. It may take you a little bit but you will be surprised on how your brain takes over and the your hand response with the handles becomes no issue.

Have fun,

Mike

Now that you've owned it for 9 months, how do you like it?
