Why is my Scag blowing the 20A fuse every time I engage the PTO? I was mowing and it just stalled that is when I discovered the blown fuse. I replaced it and it blew as soon as I turned on the PTO. Its about four years old and this is the first problem I've had.

if you do a search you can find stories about how to test a clutch, both for being grounded and the ohms reading. I have a John Deere, and it has a wiring connector. If you have a wiring connector you could disconnect it and see if it still blows your fuse. If it does not, it seems that would merit down to a problem with your clutch. I'm assuming your PTO is used to engage the clutch for the blades.

I replace a clutch on a Scag a couple of years ago due to the same problem. Clutch would short out when warm, but would work when cold.
