I have a John Deere D140 that I purchased in the summer of 2011. I went to engage the mower blades and they wouldn't work. Strangely, they did engage when I turned the ignition switch to the lights. I got off to move something in the yard and went to turn the "lights back on" as to mow the grass  and now the lights do not work either. :frown: Any ideas. The mower acted a bit strange last mowing and had to jump the battery via battery charger of which I had to do again today. Charging battery now but when mower is running I do not now have lights nor will my mower blades engage. I at first thought it was the "PTO" or attachment engagement switch until mower worked with lights on but now am wondering if problem is with the ignition switch as it controls the lights. It is obviously an electrical issue of some sort.

My light bulbs "lamps" burnt out and will need replaced, the battery seems to be taking charge, perhaps it is the PTO switch. Regardless, hope to hear from someone soon thanks in advice. Blade cutter watching blades grow.
