Attach a black lead of a voltmeter to the negative post of the battery and the red lead to the positive and try to start the engine, what is the voltage.
Now move the red lead to the battery side of the starter solenoid, and try to start what is the voltage.

If it is not located on the starter itself, then just follow the big wire coming off of the starter and you will find it. Some are not bad to get to others are a royal pain.

do a quick check of the red lead on the starter housing and the black lead on the negative post of the battery. What is the voltage.
