Problem with choke linkage Honda GJAEA A1AE

I took the carb off to clean out the bowl...but now the linkage is amiss. Lever slides to choke OK, Full Throttle OK, but when I try to move to idle, it binds. I was thinking that the dropdown section of #10 linkage is a spring, but it does not give.

Is this a fixed throttle engine??? Two parts stop the control cable from going to idle: part #10 the rubber grommet & the rotating cam #7.

Do you have both parts #9 & #10? They are both choke linkages, one used with a remote throttle and one without. You will only use one of them.

As it turns out, it IS a fixed throttle, the customer verified that the remote throttle would jam at Full Throttle. It only works Choke or Full. It was that way New, out of the box. Weird!

Glad to hear you figured it out. Can you post all the numbers for the unit? Both model and serial numbers for the engine and unit. Maybe Robert@Honda can give us some in site as to what is going on. To do so he will need as much info as you can provide.
