It will mow a couple of minutes fine. Then it will start sputtering and bogging down badly. I can put it back in park and it will start running better again.
I have changed the fuel filter, drained all the gas from the tank and lines and replaced with new gas, and washed the air filter cover. The inner part of the plastic gas cap started to fall apart last year. I cleaned all of the plastic peices out of the tank and fuel lines. I read some where else that a improperly vented gas cap can cause similar problems.
So before i go buy another part "gas cap" for a falling apart MTD, any other ideas?
Bad cap maybe causing the problem, but I suspect that you have a fuel delivery problem. I would rebuild the carb if the cap does not solve the problem.
