Price of Nonworking Mowers

I have had two lawn mowers that do not work sitting in my shed for several years now. The two options I am considering are to either sell them as-is, or try to fix them myself. However, I have no idea what is wrong with either of them as well as no experience working with engines. What would you recommend me doing?

As for the mowers, they are both Murray 22" cuts and that's all I really know about them.

have you started them up yet? looks like they need gas and go! Id try to get em running with starter fluid and fresh gas. If they dont go, sell on cl. on craigslist they are $50 easy. I would buy em off you if i lived closer, the quatnam briggs engines are awesome! good luck!

My answer is a lot different than the previous poster. I wouldn't even go and look at a non running Murray much less pay $50 for it.
Around here you'd be lucky to get $50 for a running Murray.

I'd pay $15, give or take a bit. I price like this when I buy.
Kinda running-$20
Not running- $10-15
Add maybe $10 if self propelled. Subtract $5-10 if self propel not working.
Cast deck-maybe $10 more, if not dicked up.
Snapper, I'll give $25 for push, $35-50 for self propelled, unless beaten to death.
Yours? I'd give ya $10 each. Now you can probably get em running and sell them for $30-40 each, and an hours work. And learn a bunch. Flywheel keys are cheeeeeeap. Carb kits, (if it actually needs it) are cheap too. Maybe $10 and an hour apiece. Put cash in your pocket, man.
