Pressure washer quick connections

Are quick connections safe to use on gas pressure washers? I've never owned a gas pressure washer until now, and need to get a replacement hose for it. I was thinking about getting this one

I'm just skeptical because of the pressure that will be applied. I know that air compressors have these, but I just wanted feed back to be sure.

The hose you are showing is rated for 2000 psi washers. Most gas washers exceed that. Most gas washers use the 22mm screw type connector, but there are a few out there that use a quick connector like air compressors, but are not very common.

The hose in your example uses a clip to hold the hose to the gun, as well as the washer pump. Most likely can't be converted to a gas application. at least on the pump end.

The Pressure washer is a Karcher model 4000G and is listed with the compatible models with the new hose, so it should work, right?

Looks like your washer is an 1800 psi unit so you are within the specs of the hose.

Assuming a part number of 1.133-201.0 located on the same tag as the k 4000 g number that is suppose to be the correct hose for your pressure washer. May require a different wand according to the additional info.

The part number for the hose is 6.389-555.0

Unless I misread the red listed part number on the replacement part, it matches the last part number.

I modified my post after I asked for the part number off of the model number tag. On the tag on the frame there is something they call a part number, which for the dealers is the model number for parts purposes. If you have the 1.133-201.0 number on that tag it calls for a 2.642-708.0 hose in the parts breakdown. If you have the 1.133-203.0 version it calls for the 6.389-555.0 hose which has been superceded to 2.642-953.0 in the dealer order system, and is priced at $144.99 now the hose that you have listed in your first post list the 2.642-708.0 hose as a replacement for the 6.389-555.0 and 2.642-953.0 hose.

If converting from the 6.389-555.0 hose you may also need to replace the wand, because your wand may not fit the new gun.

The model number on the decal is: 1.133-201 and there are some other numbers on the side. If needed, I can post a picture of the decal.

The parts diagram that I saw listed both the hose by itself and the hose/gun combination. It sounds like you can use the hose/gun combination for $40 but may need to also get a new wand because your old wand may not work with the new gun.

Just in case, do you know what is the part number of the wand that will fit on the new gun? That way I can price one if my old one does not fit.

I got the new parts in, and they don't fit! The quick coupler doesn't fit on the pressure washer. So much for matching part numbers and models! I'll have to call the company and see about returning it.
