I have a 26KW whole house generator and have zero fears of power outages. I have run this as long as 7 days straight before. I live on the Gulf Coast and you just need to understand that you will lose power. Then plan accordingly.

Going to assume he has an in the well submersible pump and the well doesn't have a pitless adapter and has exposed plumbing which usually needs a well house with some kind of heat. My 2 wells have pitless adapters so all plumbing is well below the frost line.
