Pop Up Request to Join Forum

Is there some way to fix the website so that the pop up asking you to sign in or join the forum doesn't come up every time you return to the main page? I joined long ago and sign in each time I visit, but I have to keep swatting that pop up over and over as long as I'm in the forum.
