I am no expert, but it sounds like an over-heating issue. I'm not sure what you have for hydro units, but they should have a cooling fan. I would check to make sure that the blades aren't bent, something blocking air flow, etc.
If you can, you should also check the fluid level to make sure that it isn't too low.
If you can provide the type, model #, etc of the hydro units, the experts here (not me) should be able to help.
