Poloan 25 hp OHV 48 in cut lawn mower

I have a Poulan 25 hp OHV 48 in cut lawn mower that i am having a problem with it . It will only run when the choke is pulled out on it so i am trying to figure out what is it that i need to do to correct this problem? It is a Briggs and Stratton engine
