The title sort of says it. I know the time will come when my beloved 10323 won't be fixable and I need to start thinking about a replacement. My primary use is trimming on steep hillsides where a rider is unsafe, so I suspect a 4 stroke will die of oil starvation unless it has a pressurized system.
What's an equivalent self propelled 4 stroke to the 10323? I don't even need the mulching or bagging features, just a self propelled deck with side discharge.
I'm not sure any 4 stroke has pressure lubrication, I'd ask a lawnmower dealer to verify that. Me personally, I've thought about the same thing and decided to look for low hours 2 strokes, ones just used for 60' x 120' sized suburban sized lots.

Honda makes a 4 stroke with pressurized lubrication get out your wallet. The 10323 is one of the most durable mowers by Lawn Boy. Don't hold your breath waiting for it to die
I agree with Beg 100%. Take care of the 10323 you have. Maintenance is almost zero. Make sure the air filter is kept clean and oiled, use approved TCW-3 oil and your 'boy', may outlive you,,,lol. A simple compression test, should tell you the general condition of the engine. I think the service limit is 90 p.s.i. cold.
The 10323 was the best mower ever in my opinion, and I've used and owned a ton of different mowers from various manufactures.
My 10323 completely died a few weeks ago, I spent somewhere around $140 fixing it and don't regret it, I'm good for a while. I contemplated a new mower and even shopped some the day it quit and almost bought one. If hadn't bought a $500 pressure washer recently I'd probably done it. But from what I looked at nothing out there short of $500 can replace it for the power and lightness it provides. I rationalized fixing the Lawn Boy because after a few seasons I could be faced with a problem even with buying a newer mower.
DuraFLB good call. I realize, you have to determine when you are throwing good money after bad to fix something. But I've come to the realization, things aren't made today like they once were. The 2 cycle Lawn-Boys are one of the very few American made products I'd repeat buy, too bad they don't make them anymore. We are stuck repairing was is left out there.
I can't ever use the excuse "Honey I can't cut the grass because the lawnmower won't start",,,lol
