Not all sites have access the Tecumseh/Peerless parts. My distributor is indicating it is still available if you are referring the 776402 Brake shaft. Also are you sure that you don't just need the flange (shouldered) bearings and thrust washers?

Right now I'm trying to get my ducks in a row.
I have not taken the unit apart to see exactly what parts I need.
I did start looking on eBay to see what is offered there.
The shaft that holds the pulley has side play.
The trans is on a 36" Scag walk behind.

Okay that sounds like the input shaft which has SCE108 needle bearings.

There is two versions available through Tecumseh. 780142 which superseded to 799044 which a needle bearing and seal. And the 780086A which supersedes to 780086. On RBI the 780142 also supersedes to 780086.

Just be aware that many the input shaft itself will be damaged from the bearings failing.

OK thanks.
What is RBI ?
I am a retired auto mechanic of 52 years and am aware of other parts that can be effected by a certain parts failure.
Thanks for part numbers.
If an O-ring has worn I use to use a cone shaped tool to measure diameter and thickness of it. Sadly where I worked had that tool and I no longer work there.
