I have a Craftsman ZTS 6000 with a B&S Engine and I want to order engine parts. Specifically, I need to replace entire Governor Assembly and the Engine Pulley.
Following obtained from Engine
Build Date: 01.09
Model: 445877-0132B1
Serial: 090106YG02532
Platinum Engine Series
724cc 26.0 Gross HP
with XRD.
Below are examples of entries in the B&S parts manual.
211 691019 Spring-Governed Idle
-Used After Code Date 10072200
211 796225 Spring-Governed Idle
-Used Before Code Date 10072300
Question:
How do I determine what my Code Date is?
Any other parts advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

On a Briggs engine, the code date USUALLY is part of the engine numbers, on the ID location, see EXAMPLES .........
SOME parts are "code-dated" due to changes in design or material, etc. that occurs during a particular model's date of manufacture or release, ie. different model carburetor, stator, shroud, etc. it's like a date of release / manufacture to insure the correct part for THAT particular model of engine.
