I have a 22hp Briggs& Stratton engine on my riding mower. It is spuing black smoke from the exhaust, the choke is working ok, why is it flooding??

Check air filter for replacement & post all numbers from engine data plate. Model xxxxxx, type xxxx, trim xx, code xxxxxxx.

Is choke fully retracting after warmup? Possible cable connection loose at choke lever? Crud has jammed float needle open?
