How many coats of paint do you need to make your old mower look sparkling and new? Would you say that spray cans are better than other types?

You will need at least 2 coats of primer, then 2 coats of color. Prep is the key. Sand it down to bare metal, clean off the dust using a metal paint prep cleaner, then use a "tack" cloth just before painting. Thin coats of primer/paint work best.
