Placed an order for a Kohler CH670 air-filter on Amazon , I received a Service kit for a Husqvarna
They want me to pay for the return postage , that will cost more than my initial order and is never going to happen
Told them to send me a return pre-paid parcel
Will see what response I get

Hello Oz,

The first mistake is ordering from Amazon. They are a worldwide warehouse dumping ground. You are better off going to Parts Tree or Jack's small engine. Saving a few dollars and free shipping is not worth the aggravation.

I got my money back and will take the Husqvarna parts to my local lawn mower (friend) shop and do a swap for something Kohler
Also bought 20 triple ply ,double length toilet rolls , hope they have not been dumped !!!!!!!!!!
Parts Tree and Jacks Small engines are not located in Australia

Hmmm, do "Parts Tree" and "Jacks Small engines" not ship to Australia ... ?

Yes they do but like a lot of companies who ship individually purchased items they charge an "Arm and a Leg"
Bought one from another company and it is 70mm in height but my Cub only requires 62mm , the air filter cover does not seat with the higher filter
Now the funny part they both have the same Kohler CH670 / Cub Cadet GT 2550 part number
Will respond to seller and see what happens
Price for an air filter purchased in the US of A is about $22.00 , shipping is about $22.00

I had a similar problem with a Kohler recently and I had to measure the air cleaner and searched on eBay to finally find a match.

Yeah , just sent a request to seller to see what they will do , if not positive I may have to go the dispute route
First time I have seen this taller type
My bad did not closely look at part numbers the tall one is 24-083-03 , short one is 47-083-03
Have eaten a large dose of humble pie but will move forward with tail between legs for a few hours

I got caught out with Amazon returns. They refunded me for the wrong goods but charged me for the return; UK to USA! The charges were twice the value of the item and I‘m pretty sure there were Trump tariffs charged on top of the delivery cost.
Lesson learnt; be very wary of buying parts on Amazon. Especially those brought in from overseas - for me US is overseas.
This is my second dispute with Amazon this year. They make eBay look like a reliable and trusted supplier in comparison.

Wouldn't it be nice to give your friend the business, rather than Amazon, when you buy parts?

It is not the import fees it is postage that is the killer to Australia

That is also true....been watching Cutting Edge Engineering's YouTube channel out of AUS....some of the prices are outrageous for parts not obtainable there. 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST), a 5% duty on the FOB value for most machinery, import processing charges, and biosecurity fees. Why a lathe would need biosecurity is beyond me, but....

If the lathe was second hand it would need to be spotlessly clean and sanitised/disinfected
Being an island we do not have a lot of disease that is common throughout the world and we would like to keep it that way
