I have a Dixie chopper with a generac engine, model # 050508, serial #7738803. The engine only has 377 hrs. on it and it leaks oil from the bottom. I have checked where the oil sensor is and repaired that, but the problem is under the engine. Has anyone had this problem before and if so what is the cause. I have been told by a dealer that the engine case bolts from the factory loosen up.

tinman, My Intek wants to shed its sump bolts also. I think it is due to inherent imbalance of the engines designs. In a perfect world or an expensive bike engine a balance shaft would be included . Once the sump bolts loosen the pan gasket is free to blow out in chunks, leaving gaps for pressurized oil to exit. IMO all you can do is keep chasing the torque on the sump bolts. I wait til cold , loosen all and then follow the sequence in the manual. It will probably still leak, but less. Real solution is teardown. Do not overtighten in frustration, and make it worse by snapping or stripping threads. IMO.
