Oil change disaster

I did an oil change on my LGTX 1050 Cub Cadet mower and unfortunately it did not go well. I could not figure out the 1/4 turn quick disconnect and ended up unscrewing the entire quick disconnect from the engine (it was completely loose, I assume it was never properly tightened by the factory). Luckily the mower deck was off, but oil spilled all over (and possibly into) the electric pto. I've cleaned up all the oil I can without taking anything apart, but I'm wondering if:

1 - can oil have gotten into the electric pto?

2 - if so, is it a problem?

I've seen this more than once. Don't feel that it will be a problem. If oil did get in the PTO, when you start it up it's going to be flung (scientific term) out. You may get some oil on the underside of the unit and on the ground. I would stat and run it on a patch of grass that would not be damaged to bad with oil. You may have to do a little more cleaning afterward.

The only area that could cause problems is between the drive disc. Oil may cause some temporary slippage until the oil gets flung out or burnt out. all the bearings are sealed, as well as the electric coil pack. So any problems with oil in the electric clutch will be temporary.

Would brake cleaner hurt the PTO clutch if you did get oil all over it? Just curious if this happens to me or someone I know I might want to try that if it want hurt the clutch. I know I use the stuff around the garage all the time when I change oil in my vehicles and my Harley.
