We recently bought a used craftsman 42” riding lawn mower. We notice that the grass clippings are not bagging correctly and we are seeing a lot of grass left in the lawn. It appears that grass gets caught in the first tube. We have a double bag system.
we have a Troy Built system and never had this problem. Can’t figure out what’s happening here and any advice would be great!
Thx

Things that you need to check which may help solve the problem. 1. Never try to bag wet grass. With the system Craftsman uses even a little moisture will cause problems. 2. Check to see if your engine is running at the proper RPMs. Should be between 3200-3400 RPMs. 3. Do you have the proper blades for bagging? You need a high lift blade for proper bagging. 4. Is the underside of the deck clean? Grass buildup will hinder movement of grass to the bagger. Any of these can cause the problem or a combination of more than one.
