Unbalanced grinders are frustrating and unusable. My pedestal grinder sometimes "walks" when a new wheel is put on due to severe vibration. If your grinder vibrates check the wheel concentricity with a pointer held on the tool holder (screwdriver tip, pencil , anything). Rotate the wheel by hand and look for out-of-round. True the wheel. Best is a diamond point with screw feature allowing precise surfacing accross the wheel face. I don't own one. You can also use a stone , star wheel , carbide strip, or old mill file. Hold one of these onto the grind wheel face until grit begins to fly. Pause and you may sense improved balance, but will probably still have vibration. Be aware this
"degrit" will put a lot of abrasive dust onto your floor. Next step that has worked well follows...

Thanks to homemetalshopclub.org for this method. Remove the side wheel guard and wheel . Modify the two clamshell washers by drilling a series of holes on one side (pics). Mount the wheel with the modified washers, and start. Quickly feel vibration or lack of it. Stop and reposition outer washer until vibration is minimized. At each retrial move washer only a small amount. (pics)

Getting ready to mow caused me to reassemble the grinder. It vibrated some so I moved the front washer around per this thread. In the fifth attempt it ran smoothly. FYI
