I have 24 HP 54" zero-turn craftsman riding lawn mower. only turns to the right. right lap bar makes grinding sound when I move it to steer. any ideas on how I can repair? Model # is 247.25061.
From your description sounds like it has failed internally. You will need to get the 14 digit model number off of the tranny tag to look up parts. That unit complete is close to a grand through MTD which is who made the mower, and around 800 through hydrogear.
Most likely it has scored the pump, center section, motor unit.
