Engine No spark

I have a jd 116 with 2 cylinder briggs and stratton when its hot and you shut it off it will not start no spark,so I changed the coil,guess what I have no spark at all it has no points and the kill wire is not hooked up.Everybody tells me that their should be no reason I don't have spark,any suggestions

Take the coil off and clean the two bosses which the coil mounts on. You may not be getting a good ground when it heats up. Set the air gap at .010.

I cleaned the bosses and put the coil back on and still no spark

Hate to say this, but if you have set the air gap at .010 and have the kill wire disconnected, you probably have a bad coil. Just a thought, are you sure the coil is mounted correctly, kill wire terminal down?
