Poulan trimmer model sm30sb,serial 103478100596, Switch is good, plug works in another unit, new coil, both ohm out the same, new and old coil. Removed ground wire to the coil still no spark. Magnet will support a 1/4 inch screw driver so seems powerful enough. Air gap set properly. What am I missing?

Export threadYou did not tell us how old the trimmer is . My ryobi died after 10 years due to contact of magnet and coil. It was a "one bearing" crank and developed excess runout. The coil would spark , but not enough to fire. The replacement parts quickly reach half the cost of a new low end replacement trimmer.
Is the coil install in the correct direction?
Thanks Rivets, this coil will only go one way. Certainly has me puzzled.
