I left my brute self-propelled lawn mower outdoors in the rain for 3 days and it will not start. It's a Briggs & Stratton 725ex series 190cc and there is no spark at the plug wire. I do not have a multimeter so I assumed the problem was the ignition coil so I purchased a new one online. Installed a new spark plug gaped @ 0.30 and set the coil Gap at 0.11 and to be sure I disconnected the kill switch wire at the coil. The flywheel magnets have a strong magnetic pull. I have tried everything that I have read online to try but still no spark to the spark plug or my spark detector tool. I have the Run position lever zip tied to the mower handle. Hope this is enough for a diagnosis.

Having the kill wire off and proper air gap it should fire. Did you buy a OEM coil or a knockoff?

OEM coil. Thanks for responding but I cleaned out the crank position sensor and it started right up.
