getting 30 v ac from stator resitor is putting out voltage all over the scale, thougth resitor bad till i unplugged it and tried to charge battery . charger smoked before i could unplug it. the battery will charge with the hot cable disconnected. it seems i may have a short ... but ... the solinoid should have everything off. i noticed another wire hooked to the same terminal as the hot cable i will try ti trace that out... it would seem that wire would just go to the resitor.
