I have a Kawasaki with a Nikki carb. Won't start, suspect the shut off
solenoid not functioning. Engine will start and run a few seconds with
an ether injection but then stops. After a lot of cranking with choke on,
spark plugs are dry. When I plug the connector onto the solenoid I hear it
click but still think it can't be opening the valve or whatever else it operates.
The engine is a 21 hp K.
If you think I'm on the wrong track please make suggestions, if not where is a good place to get
Nikki rebuilt carbs or kits.
Fuel pump is okay.
Numbers on carb as follows,
6731
150037115
266-662.

Put up your engine's model numbers so we know what you have. How do you know that the fuel pump is ok? Is the solenoid on the carb bottom?
The engine is FH641V and the carb is as shown on page 3-8 of the manual.
The only other thing I did was try blowing into the disconnected fuel line
towards the carb with the ignition on and off.
No difference on or off it's blocked.
The solenoid is on the bottom and slightly cosmetically different
that the one shown on 3-8.
