Nikki carb adjustment

Just replaced a Nikki carb on Briggs 23 hp horizontal shaft twin. Not familiar with this carb as how to adjust. Has two adjustment screws one on either side at the top with plastic limit caps. Turning either one dos not seem to make any difference In engine speed. Seems to be idling a little high. Have not been able to find anything on these carbs on the net. Thanks for any suggestion.

Vanguard? Please post model and type numbers. Also do you have an inductive tach at hand?
