Hello everyone,
been lurking here for awhile reading up on the forums. I found a very clean Honda HR215SXA that the grandson was selling from his grandfather's old storage. I picked it up for $50 but he warned me it didn't have any prolusion and he remembers that from when he was a kid helping to mow grandpa's small front yard. I pulled off the cover to the transmission and found out the driveshaft had snapped right at the coupler point (see pic). We have a small lawn so I could just use it as a push mower but I'd sure like to bring this back to its former glory. Anyone give me the details on time and skill it'd take to replace?
Thanks all
Hi Chuck
I wish it was that part. It's the actual shaft coming out of the engine case that sheered off. It's weird because I'd assume the part you shared would be designed to break under stress.
Yes! That looks like the part I need. Thanks Chuck. How hard is it to get to that part? I'm assuming it involves engine removal and cracking open the case. Any idea of the cost if I had it done at a shop?
Appreciate the help.
