I'm in the market for a new weedeater. Looking to use for trimming the majority of the time and residential use only. The size of the lot is about 5000 sq ft. Brands, straight shaft v. curved shaft, gas vs. electric? advice? Thanks.

Small lot in town, I'd go with battery if no other two stroke equipment in your garage. I like the straight shaft trimmers and I'd like to try one with the automatic loading spool. Loading the cut line is just an aggravation on most. I'd look for a battery trimmer and blower combo with the higher voltage batteries, maybe 40 volt. Your neighbors will like the lack of noise and you'll like the lack of gas/oil mixing (and noise.)
