Picked up a '96 model 10546 today. F series engine, 3 speed trans, and electric start. This was the caddy of Lawn Boys. Runs great, and can't wait to try it out. Just thought I'd share some pics with my fellow LB fans.

It looks very well taken care of. I like the turtle for the slow throttle setting -- and the rabbit for fast.

But electric start (and all the extra parts, requiring maintenance, that it implies) on a push mower seems silly to me. My favorite mowers are very simple and easy to maintain.

After cleaning the carb, and installing a new Gator blade, this thing is a grass chewing machine. Had to order a new pinion and spring for the ele start motor. Old one was worn out (plastic). It doesn't need 3rd gear because I don't mow and jog :). Final thought: a great mower and investment. Just like a Lawn Boy!

That's a beauty. I love those lawn boys. Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I'm still looking for my first self propelled mower.

Just got one of them on Saturday for $30.00 minus the electric start option and rear bagger assembly but I have a few of them lying around.Word is this is Lawnboy's best model for reliability.I will be posting some pics but am having issues with the site like my camera is too many mega pixels I have around 60 LB's not that they all run but its nice to have donors. my camera is 13 mp and if anyone has some tips on how to get the photos to upload I would really appreciate it

The simplest thing to do may be to change a setting on your camera to lower the resolution. You'll probably find that pictures taken at 2mp look fine on a computer monitor.

There is a thread on this subject on the site discussion forum.

That does look like it's in VERY good condition. I believe the 6.5 Duraforce engine was the best 2 cycle mower made. I bought one new in 1999 and it's STILL going strong. I've been looking for a commercial model with the Duraforce engine for over a year, with no luck. I'm sure your mower will give you years of trouble-free service

For my first few years as a LB hobbyist, I was down on Dura-Force engines but now I'm looking for one just so I can try out the modding methods (drilling carb jets) developed by turfboy1997. There are a couple threads about that.

I'm not sure I'll ever like the Dura-Force more than the F-series, but I still want one.
