Picked up this nice little 19" mower today. It's in really good shape for a '73 model. Took about 30min to drain the old stale gas, and clean the carb before she was running like a top. I'm impressed with these little machines each time I get one running again. And I have a guard dog in case anyone gets too close to it haha.

You found a good mower & it looks like you have a helper too.

Good to hear from you, Fireman.

I'd like to know more about the 5241... it's an alloy deck - right? And if it's made in 1973 it has to be a D-series engine - right? A couple more photos would help also.

I had a chance to buy a 19" LB for a good price a couple of years ago but it was in an inconvenient location and I never did get to it... but now I regret not buying it.

Here's a 1974 model 8232 (notice the same vent on the shroud as the 5241) along with my helper:

More pics? No problem! Best thing about this mower, is it only set me back $20! Craigslist find. Surprised I didn't have to beat folks out of the way to get it!

It runs really good. Has great compression to be 39 years old.

my point exactly on the lawn boy vs any other brand! 39 years old and can still mow like its brand new! and how many john deeres can do that! impressive! great find looks great!

That is a great deal. I've noticed a pattern with LBs on the Atlanta CraigsList for the last few months: the good (or even medium good) deals are snapped up right away.

Thanks for the photos.
