Have a chance to pick up a Exmark Metro 26" with a Kawasaki FJ 180 KAI engine for $300.00 The mower is in reasonable shape and the engine runs good, think $300 is to much?

Yes. I've used that machine and hated every second of it. And I never thought the cut quality was there. Plus as you know buying something used like that, especially that cheap (still a commercial mower with a good name brand engine) they are prolly not telling you everything I personally wouldn't buy it but if I were to I wouldn't spent more than 200 on it
I've got one, and I wish I had never purchased this mower. There is a reason they don't make this mower anymore. It's heavy hard to maneuver and since it weighs so much the transmission can barely pull it through the grass. My advise stay away from this mower.

I owned one briefly and didn't like it at all. This may be one time when the bad reviews and reputation of a mower is well deserved. The mower is worth whatever the engine and other useful parts are worth to you. I wouldn't buy it to use.
