I am getting a new mower and come down to two choices. Hustler Fastrak or the Scag Freedom Z. Any suggestion to decide between the two? I am leaning towards the Fastrak. I have dealers close for both mowers. Fastrak $6600 Freedom Z $5900. Both prices are with tax. Thanks

I bought the freedom z because I liked the mower, I liked the dealer, and they were located close to me. I was comparing the raptor sd when I purchased mine. The fastrak will get you the same engine but gives you a better transaxle with the zt3100. I do wish the freedom z came with the flat free casters like the fastrak, as well as the larger drive tires. I think either way you go your going to get a well built mower. Not to confuse you any more but one mower I wish I knew more about when I purchased mine is the ferris is600/700. For very similar money you can get a Kawasaki fs engine, zt3400 transaxles, a striping kit and a suspension. If you have a dealer close, it may be worth looking at. Good luck with your decision, you're gonna be happy either way you go.

I would definitely compare warranties... When I purchased my Fast Trak SD back in 2013...I had my mind set on purchasing a Bad Boy because they're built about an Hour from here in Batesville, Arkansas and they are well built machines..however after researching warranties I discovered that at that time that the BB had a one year warranty compared to 4 years with the Hustler.. I think that the warranties are lil closer now as far as length of coverage now but I'm not sure on that... this made my decision a lot easier and I'm TOTALLY SATISFIED with my FTSD...not one single issue or breakdown.. I did add a set of flex forks...well worth $$$.
